Itadakimas en Malasana!

Sunday, January 2, 2011

Shoko, who plays violin for the orchestra of the Teatro Real in Madrid, had her annual Japanese New Year luncheon at her flat in Malasana.  It was interesting to learn about the Japanese community in Spain.  They all keep their customs and traditions, but mix them nicely with their Spanish ones.  For example, we ate this delicious Japanese meal, but drank Rioja rather than sake.  And very much like the Spanish, lunch started at 3pm and took hours to eat.  It was perfect!
