Black Noise

Newest AguiLara addition: Lee Ranaldo’s Black Noise; Drypoint on vinyl record.  We loved this piece because black noise (a scratched up record) is purposely making white noise, a random signal or process that in my profession I have seen to actually be helpful for people with tinnitus (ringing of the ears).  But Black Noise is also known as silent noise, since the frequencies are too high to be sensed…which is perfect coming from this Sonic Youth guitarist.  This all tells me that in this piece there is more to see and hear…
